Starting point
The existing systems are the difficult part.
In the companies we work with there is rarely a green field. There is an application that has carried orders, stock and invoicing for ten or twenty years, next to it an ERP system, a document archive, a few spreadsheets and an interface that drops a file overnight. Every one of these parts works. Together they form a landscape into which nothing new fits until somebody first understands how it hangs together.
You notice it in three places. Changes take longer than they used to, although the tasks have stayed the same size. For certain processes there is exactly one person in the company who can explain them. And a project that is undisputed in business terms is left lying there, because the data does not come out of the existing system in a usable form.
That is exactly where our work begins. We build into existing landscapes, with all the care that requires: operations continue, permissions have grown over time, data goes back twenty years. It is more demanding than a new development on open ground, and it is the reason every project here begins with an assessment.

Where our work begins and where it ends.
For a website, an online shop, a campaign or an app for end customers, digital agencies are the right address, and Salzburg has plenty of them. We build the systems behind all that: server and client applications, databases, interfaces between applications that have to talk to each other and so far do not.
We do not sell standard software either. If a ready-made product covers your process, we say so in the first conversation and recommend it. We have turned down enquiries for which an off-the-shelf solution existed. That costs a contract and spares both sides a project nobody wins.
What sets us apart from larger houses is the number of people involved. You speak with the person who assesses your system and takes responsibility for the architecture, and that person stays the same beyond the duration of the project. It also limits how many projects we take on at the same time. If a date cannot be met, we say so before the contract is placed.
And we do not take on systems we are not allowed to look at. The same order applies to all four of our services: first the existing systems, then the plan, then the build. Anyone who wants an estimate without that first step will not get one from us.

You are a small house. What happens if you drop out?
From the first day the source code sits in version control to which you have access. We write the documentation so that another house can carry on with it: no internal shorthand, no tools only we can operate. We use widely used technologies rather than in-house constructions, so that you can find someone on the market who knows them.
What does this cost before we commit to anything?
The initial consultation takes half an hour and costs nothing. Afterwards you know the rates we work with and the order of magnitude of a first step. The assessment can be booked as a service of its own, has a fixed price and ends with something written that belongs to you. Only after that does an estimate follow, with line items you can strike out individually.
We already work with a service provider.
That is the normal case and no obstacle. An architecture review, an assessment or an AI connection can be commissioned even if your software comes from another provider or is developed in house. The written findings are written so that your existing partner can work with them. Changing provider is not a precondition.
